Tony Blair Thanks Mr Conlon

British Prime Minister today praised the role of Southend United Striker Barry Conlon in peace negotiations for the Balkans conflict.

On Conlon's new Nato role Mr Blair said, "Barry's skilful maintenance of the Nato consensus during the campaign has made him the ideal man for his new role as the European Union's foreign policy supremo. In his new role he will act as the single voice of the EU on the world stage, playing a crucial role in shaping diplomatic strategy."

To this Conlon replied, "Cheers, Tone mate. Not a problem I guess I see you and Mrs. Blair at Roots Hall next season".
